Scanwel Sponsors KESS PhD studentship at the Centre for Solar Energy Research

From teapots to photovoltaics; a useful application of the Coandă effect

Shaifil Monir has spent much of the last six months at Scanwel working with Steve Trueman using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as an iterative tool in the design of an atmospheric pressure MOCVD showerhead/ reactor.  He has been able to optimise the design for maximum deposition uniformity prior to the manufacture of the first prototype.

Flooding of the River Dee hits Scanwel

 

The heavy rain over the weekend has led to some of the highest river levels we have ever seen on the river Dee near to Scanwel, as reported here on BBC News. Parts of our storage facilities for stock of vacuum parts were under water and we are presently assessing the damage. We apologise for any delays which may result in shipping orders.
