Scanwel Group has recently built a bespoke vacuum chamber for Liverpool University. The chamber is used for the beam profile monitor designed for UK participation in the High-Luminocity upgrade of the large hadron collider phase 11 (HLLHC-UK phase 11).
The Beam Gas Curtain (BGC) device is a non-invasive beam profile monitor which enables a 2D profile image of a particle beam to be captured. This device is a key output of the ongoing collaboration between CERN and Cockcroft experts at the University of Liverpool.
